I am the queen of Long Distance Relationship. If I’ve dated 10 guys, 9 of them lived in a different state or even country.
So from the queen of LDR. Here is how to love beyond borders.
1. First of all, you have to learn to be disappointed.
I’m so sorry but yes, I won’t sugarcoat nothing. Set your mind to the fact that no one is perfect. I don’t mean disappointed in that, the relationship will end before it started though, I mean disappointed that he might not call when he says he would. Just realise he has flaws and so do you.
2. Be optimistic.
If you’re a negative person, or you have friends who can never say anything good about anything. I really don’t think LDR will work out for you. This type of relationship works solely with positivity even stronger than trust. This guy lives miles away, you have no idea what he’s doing at that moment except if he tells you. So If voices in form of your negative mind or friends, keep whispering ‘he’s sleeping with some hot girl in his office’. You might end up giving yourself a heart attack.
The fun thing about LDR is that the conversations are so intense at times. You guys get to talk about things people would think are unnecessary and that’s really the best thing. You’re separated by miles so try to make up for it by constantly communicating. Talk about everything, what time you got up, what time you had your shower, what he said, what she said… Skype, bbm, Facebook, tweet, histogram, snapchat. Go the whole nine yards and make the distance.
If you don’t like it, get a boyfriend in your city. People in LDR have to master the art of Sexting. I don’t mean that boring what-are-you-wearing-right-now-ooh-I’m-so-hot, no no no. I mean. Steamy, X-rated texts that would actually move mountains and make him hop on the next flight to see you. This is the only erotic act between both of you and it has to be intense and extra hot.
Don’t be a loner because your boyfriend lives in another state. Go out with your friends and have a good time. Be a happy child. Take it from the queen of LDR. This is really important. LDR is difficult, you’d need someone to hold you and realise he isn’t there and that is emotionally frustrating. So you need social support from your friends, it won’t cure the ache of not having him close but it makes it more bearable.
