5 amazing facts about the clitoris

The clitoris is downplayed by all the attention shown to the vagina. This is one major reason why orgasms are elusive to most women. Some men find it so mysterious they stay away from it or maltreat it and others just don’t care, falling under the impression that thrust thrust wham bam thrust aaah! Is all there is to sex.

Well, I have news. This miniscule but powerful appendage near the female vagina has so many interesting facts you’d be wondering why you never paid it any attention before now.

HER NAME IS KEY

The name “clitoris” is from an ancient Greek word that means KEY. Rather apt if you ask me because it is the key to unlocking a woman’s fountain of pleasures, treasures and all that good stuff.

SHE HAS ONE JOB

The sole job of the clitoris is to give pleasure to a woman. That’s all! It has no other function whatsoever. So now tell me again why some people cut it off before it even reaches its full potential. Blaady Haters!

SHE IS THE FEMALE VERSION OF A PENIS …

Well they are closely related. The clitoris and the penis start off in the womb as one and the same but at about 12 weeks, the genitalia evolve towards a penis or labia to fit their respective sexes. But like a penis, the clit has a mini shaft, a foreskin, erectile tissue and a shaft. And yup! When aroused, she has an erection too. I know this is hard to take in. Hehehe

MORE THAN WHAT MEETS THE EYE

Thinking that little bud that peeks out is all there is to see of the clitoris is like saying the penis consists only of the cap. The clit extends about 6inches into the female anatomy further sealing the intensity of her orgasm. So err… there is a possibility that her clit is bigger than your shlong J.

SHE LIKES TO PLAY

The clitoris doesn’t really favour penetration but she loves foreplay and she has a lot of nerves – literally. The clitoral glans consists of about 8,000 nerve endings, that’s twice as many nerves as the penis or any other part of the body. 50-75% of women need to have their clitoris touched before they can reach orgasm. Forget porn and what you thought you knew, the clit requires attention, TLC and some time to get aroused

THEY ARENT ALL THE SAME

Women are different so their bodies must be too. What works for girl A won’t necessarily work for girl B. The clitoris is hidden in some women and protruding in others, some prefer to be touched softly, others like pressure. This is where communication and exploration come in handy.

POSITION MATTERS

The distance between the clit and the vagina matters in penetration. Best bet? Have him slide up like 2 inches during missionary. Or you can try the cowgirl position, control the motion and ride like you’re in a rodeo. Hehehe

MOOD SWINGS AND PICKY

Well duh! The clitoris has mood swings. It wouldn’t be part of the female anatomy if it didn’t. She doesn’t like dry fingers or a too wet tongue. Sometimes, try as you might she will remain unresponsive, this can be caused by stress levels, time of month, fatigue, hydration etc

KILLER ORGASMS

There are vaginal and cervical orgasms but the clitoral one is bae. Better known as the Gspot, she can climax multiple times in a row. Some sex educators have concluded that even the most average clitoral orgasm is more intense and lasts longer (10-30secs) than the best ever male orgasm.

IT GROWS

As a woman gets older, her clit grows. After menopause, it becomes 2.5 times larger. It is still teeny-weeny though, it’s just more visible. It doesn’t guarantee a better orgasm, but it ensures she gets one

AGE AINT NOTHING BUT A NUMBER

As men age, they deal with all sorts of age related penis issues like erectile dysfunction and a drop in libido, but women are genetically designed to reach orgasm at any age. Even at 95, the clitoris sexual response remains the same.

Put simply, women stay winning. `

It is always best when a woman knows her body, but its better when a man knows it more and you know what, it’s never too late to learn. Take the key and unlock all that goodness. *wink*

Stay well!
