Reasons to laugh a little more

It’s crazy how something as little as laughter can do so many wonders for a person.

They say it’s a medicine for the soul, they say it’s an exercise that inspires and stimulates the heart.

Dr William Fry says, 1 minute of laughing equals to 10 minutes on a rowing machine. That’s some exercise.

I say laughing is fun and way better than crying.

If you need reasons to laugh regularly, here are some.

  • Laughter melts away tension, stress, irritation, anger, grief and depression. It aids emotional wellbeing, it lowers your inhibitions and help release your pent-up emotions. Too much grammar? Lemme break it down; laughter makes you feel better, it just makes you feel good.
  • Laughter boosts the nervous system. Humor helps integrate both hemispheres of our brain. The left hemisphere is used to decipher the verbal contents of a joke while the right interprets whether it is funny or not. It enhances brainwork. Now I get why some peoples are slow  when it comes to humor.
  • More oxygen is taken in when you laugh, this gives you a great sense of wellbeing. Laughter generally promotes healthy living. It reduces pain by releasing endorphins that are even more potent than morphine. It’s the masseuse of all the organs of the body and aids blood circulation.
  • Laughing makes everything easier. People find it easier to approach a smiling face, they love anyone who can make them laugh. So the more you share your sense of humor the more friends you’re likely to have. If you’re able to make fun of yourself by laughing, you disempower those who’d want to ridicule you. The ability to laugh through every situation will help you through this turbulent life. It will help you accept the inevitable, handle unexpected challenges with ease and come out of any difficulty smiling.

You’ll notice you’ll become more productive and a better communicator when you develop a healthy sense of humor.

So try and liberate yourself by finding a reason to laugh regularly. There are so many ways you can do that, read funny books, watch comedies, stay around people that make you laugh.

Laugh and the world laughs with you.
