7 Simple tips for keeping your skin wrinkle free


Wrinkles: a phenomenon loathed by all women. Men too, sometimes.

These small folds, lines or ridges appear on the skin as a result of an ageing process, habitual facial expression, prolonged immersion in water, sun damage, smoking, poor hydration, skin types and some other reasons.

They say prevention is better than cure and while there are treatments for wrinkles such as laser treatments and plastic surgery, it is better to prevent them than to use those aggressive techniques later.

Here are possible treatments and preventive measures to take against wrinkles

Avoid the sun

The sun is the major cause of wrinkles. Exposure to the ultra-violet rays of the sun can predispose you to a wrinkled face in the near future. As much as you can, avoid too much to sunlight. Wear sunscreen whenever you are going to be exposed to a lot of sun.

Sleep

Getting enough sleep is necessary to keep your skin healthy. Lack of sleep makes the body produce a skin cell breaking hormone called cortisol, but another hormone called Human Growth Hormone is produced when you sleep. This hormone helps keep the skin thick and more elastic, thus preventing wrinkles.

NB: It is also advisable to sleep on your back because sleeping face down or on the side produces a type of wrinkle on the chin and cheeks called furrowed brow.

Eat Fish

Consume fishes high in Omega-3 fatty acid, like Salmon and Catfish. Omega 3 is the building block of great skin, it nourishes the skin and keeps it youthful.

Eat fruits and vegetables

There is something called free radical, it’s an unstable molecule that damages cells. Fruits and vegetables contain antioxidant compounds that help fight against the damages caused by this free radicals and in turn the skin looks younger and more radiant. Antioxidants also help to counteract a decrease in collagen, elasticity and firmness in aging skin. Tomatoes are great for wrinkles prevention because it contains a substance called lycopene.

Moisturize

This cannot be over emphasized. Use a good moisturizer for God’s sake. They keep the skin moist and tender. A moist skin is a beautiful skin.

Retinoids

This is a natural form of vitamin A used effectively for wrinkle treatment and sun damages. Products like Retin-A is a Retiniod. You can find good skin creams that contain these retinoids at many supermarkets in Port Harcourt.

Water

Water no get enemy! It should be your bestfriend. Consume at least 4-6 liters of water daily and it will help get rid of all the roughness and dryness and keep your skin glowing.

It is very important to stick to a skin product and be consistent in your exercise, if you treat your skin properly and care for it, it will look beautiful and radiant. We all want to look young forever, so start now to prevent wrinkles.

And stop frowning all the time.
