8 reasons why you should use Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) might be a strange substance to a lot of people, about a month ago it was to me, but I have recently just discovered this miracle in a can and I’m ecstatic to share it with you all.

Vinegar means sour wine in French, so expect this ACV to taste sour. It’s gotten from fermenting sugar from apples which turns to acetic acid. So AVC is literarily fermented apple juice. It contains no vitamins and minerals but has tiny amount of potassium and also has amino acids and some quality antioxidants. Great news about ACV, a teaspoon contains only 3 calories.

There are so many awesome benefits of ACV, whether you choose to ingest it or apply it to your skin and it has no side effects.

For centuries, ACV has been used as a disinfectant for wounds. It’s also used in cleaning almost anything. You can even sprinkle some in your toilet, it will smell like apple. ACV kills bacteria, thanks to the acetic acid, and prevents them from multiplying and reaching a harmful level. It is also a natural preservative for food. If you wash your veggies with it, they are guaranteed to last longer. Even kills candida, the yeast associated with thrush in humans.

Sugar zapper

Elevated blood sugar can cause ageing and various chronic disease. So this isn’t just for those with type 2 diabetes, it’s essential for everyone to keep your blood sugar or insulin level in check. Incorporating ACV in your diet will lower your blood sugar levels.

For a beverage; Dilute ACV in water and drink. 1-2 teaspoon (5-10ml) to 1-2 tablespoon(15-30ml) per day.

For diet; use it in cooking, can also be used for salad dressing, mayonnaise and co.

Weight loss friendly

For those willing to lose weight, here’s a new savior.

We already know ACV helps your insulin and glucose levels by lowering them; which is one thing you need for weightlose. Another way ACV helps is that it makes you feel full, eating a high-carb diet with ACV increases your level of fullness and make you eat 200-275 less calories. Eating this less calories will definitely make you lose weight in time.  In layman’s terms; ACV reduces your sugar which makes you fat and it also makes you eat less than you normally would, which means you won’t have to over eat anymore.

Put 2 teaspoons of ACV in 16 ounce of water and drink.

Heart friendly

Anything that lowers your calories is obviously good for your heart. ACV also lowers your cholesterol and triglyceride levels. And reduces blood pressure.

Hair friendly

For healthy shinny hair, you can use ACV as a hair rinse. After shampooing, mix about ½ teaspoon of ACV in 1 cup of cold water and pour on your hair. It will shine.

Stain remover

For the teeth. If there is any stubborn stain on your teeth. ACV to the rescue, just dab on the stain.

Natural after shave

Bumps are disgusting, we don’t like them, and we don’t want to have them. ACVs are great after shaves. After shaving, mix equal part water and ACV, apply to face or wherever after shaking the concoction well.

Great for the skin

ACV is a good news for the skin, it regulates the Ph level of the skin and even fades acne scars and age spots. Simply dilute 2 parts water with 1 part ACV and use as your toner, with a cotton wool dab on your face, day and night.

For treatment of warts; soak a cotton wool in ACV and place on the wart, use a band-aid or plaster to keep it in place overnight. The area might swell atfirst but it will eventually fall off. Continue this procedure for a few days so that the wart doesn’t return.

Surprisingly, AVC is quite cheap in Nigeria, I looked it up and a medium sized bottle is N1,100, the bigger one costs N2,200. I’ve got myself a bottle and I can’t wait to start eating less and having a scar free face.  Remember ACV has no side effects, it’s even said to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors.

What are you waiting for, go and buy a bottle and please, use it carefully. Look up how to use it before ingesting it.
