Doctors At BMH Go On Strike

Doctors at the Braithwaite Memorial (Specialist) Hospital have resolved to embark on a strike citing inadequate manpower to cope with patients’ demands at the hospital.

This was contained in a notice issued by the president of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) Dr. Felix Clement Wekere who said that the Rivers State government has refused to engage more officers since 2015 after so many appeals.

The Rivers State Ministry of Health through its Information Officer, however has said that the ministry had concluded interviews already for new doctors and only waiting for the names to be approved by the Civil Service Commission.
